Sparring & coaching

Sparring for people who are building something

Since 2015 I have sat across from people who have built something, week after week – founders, board members, scientists, athletes. In 800+ conversations it almost always comes down to the same kind of decision. If you are facing one right now, let us talk about it.

What you get

Four things I bring

The craft of asking
I have been asking questions for a living for over ten years – 800+ times, until the interesting part came. From 2023 to 2025 I hosted the German government's podcast. That is the same work as in a sparring session, only without a recording.
Access, not just advice
From 500+ conversations I usually know someone who has had your question before. Where it fits, I make the connection. That is often worth more than my own opinion.
It stays between us
No committee, no stage, no recording. Nothing from a sparring session ends up in an episode.
Not just the business
At digital kompakt, growth happens on three levels: business, personality, health. Sparring works the same way. If the real question is not the business model but what you are taking on right now, we talk about that.

Is this about a committee rather than about you personally? Then the advisory board is the right place.

Topics

What we can talk about

Wealth

Business model, growth, pricing, sales, positioning. How money is made in a digital economy.

Personality

Leadership, decisions, your own role. What successful people wish they had known earlier – and what success costs.

Health

How you stay strong enough, physically and mentally, to keep this up.

On the third topic I speak as someone who thinks about it and has heard a lot about it – not as a doctor and not as a therapist. If that is what you need, I will tell you.

Why me

I know both sides

For over ten years I have sat across from the most successful people in this economy and asked how they did it – founders, board members, investors. Hardly anyone gets told so often, and so unfiltered, what really stood behind a decision.

And I have been building myself the whole time: at Gründerszene as editor-in-chief and co-shareholder, and digital kompakt since 2015. Plus a failed startup, a business club and holdings that went insolvent.

It is exactly that mix that makes sparring worth something: I know the view of those who have made it – and I know from my own experience how the weeks feel when things are not going well.

Let us talk

Write a few lines about what it is about – where you stand right now, which decision is due and what you hope to get out of the conversation. I will come back with a suggestion for which format fits.
